Tullie House are winners of the Telegraph Kids in Museums Family Friendly Museum Award. We follow the Kids in Museums manifesto and aim to provide a welcoming, family friendly atmosphere, first class family friendly activities and events throughout the year, spacious baby-changing areas, comfortable gallery spaces and a child-friendly restaurant menu.

Tullie Explorer Discover and Create Sundays

Every other Sunday during Cumbrian term times, 1-4pm. (please check the programme for dates) 

Join us for a range of fun interactive activities linked to our collections or exhibitions. Handle real objects, try on costume and get creative with a range of crafts.

Sunday 1st July – Lowry Inspired Animation

Check out some real LS Lowry artwork and then create your own animation in his unique style.

Sunday 15th July – Viking Longboats

Take a closer look at our fascinating Viking finds and make your own longboat

Summer Holiday Drop-Ins

Get inspired by our Eden Rivers Wonder World Exhibition and join us throughout the summer for a wide range of crafts and activities.

On Tuesdays we wil be making nature crafts, on Thursdays we will be joined by Eden River's Trust and on Saturdays we will be trying out a range of art techniques.

Sessions are free to families with annual tickets. All sessions are drop-in between 1pm and 4pm.

Get creative in this brand new pop-up craft space where you'll find a changing range or self-led crafts and games linked to our collections and exhibitions. (Museum charges apply) 

 

Special Events

We have an exciting programme of special events throughout the year celebrating our changing exhibitions including action packed summer family festivals, our famous family sleepovers and exhibition opening weekends.

 

Interactive Museum Trails

Find below a selection of fun, interactive gallery trails to help you and your family explore and discover the range of fascinating objects on display.

We also have a family friendly map of the museum galleries highlighting all the interactive areas and points of interest.

These are also available to pick up at our Trail Station near the museum entrance.
