Location : The Lecture Theatre

The talk will provide a flavour of life in Georgian Carlisle and look at key episodes in this era.
 
Ed Rutherford, Curator of Social History will discuss the Jacobite Rising of 1745, political unrest of the 1820s, and the arrival of industry. It will also explore some of the key Georgian characters including Sir James Lowther, Dr John Heysham and Margery Jackson.

Admission is free, and there is no need to book, but as the talks are so popular, please arrive promptly to secure your place.

Talks start at 1pm and are in the Lecture Theatre.

The Lecture Theatre is equipped with induction loops.Wheelchair access is available but limited; guide dogs are welcome, but if you let us know your requirements in advance by telephoning 01228 618718, we will reserve suitable seating for you.
