I love doing the brass rubbings when I come to Tullie House. You can see the different patterns on the stones.

The Vikings and Anglo-Saxons loved patterns. You can copy some of these using a piece of paper and black wax to make a rubbing. This was how some of the early archaeologists copied the original in order to study them.
