The Later Medieval collection contains a number of rare organic objects of wood and leather, as well as a large collection of pottery. There is also a range of religious material, from ring brooches to a reliquary, representing the importance of the church in Medieval times. The museum also holds a small collection of coins made in Medieval Carlisle.

A display of Late Medieval objects is housed in the Border Galleries, while the leather and wood objects can be seen in the Millennium Gallery.
