Meet the Artists
Take this rare opportunity to come and meet some of the talented artists featured in the New Light Prize Exhibition. Over four separate workshops, talented artists will be on hand to display their materials, demonstrate their skills and reveal a little more about thier processes. Sessions take place in the exhibition space and normal gallery admission charges apply.
Friday 23 October, 10.30am -12.30pm - Anthony Ratcliffe, artist and printmaker. His artwork 'Skara Brae', a woodcut of the prehistoric village site on Orkney, can be seen in the exhibition.
Saturday 3 November, 1.30 - 3.30pm - James Naughton, an oil painter who has created a unique vision of landscape painting. See his beautiful artwork 'Subterrain' in the exhibition.
Saturday 17 November, 10.30am - 3.30pm - Rachel Gibson, an acrylic artist who references the natural world to reflect an intuitive connection with experience and memory. Her artwork 'Winter Drawing: Solstice' is on display in the exhibition.
Saturday 1 December, 10.30am-12.30pm - Gavin Watson, who uses oil to explore the relationship between beast and man. See his work 'Lucky Jim' in the exhibition.
Sunday 17 November and Sunday 20 January, 1.30 - 3.30pm
Join creative practioner Helen Walsh as she teaches you how to make a simple sketchbook, then make use of your creation to learn new drawing techniques.
£15 (£12 members) Price includes entry to the exhibition, and all materials.
