Ophelia 1887 by Simeon Solomon.
A quarter-length depiction of Ophelia floating on still waters, clothed in a white robe, her pallid features viewed in profile. She has her eyes closed and her auburn hair drifting about her face on the water's surface. On the distant horizon there glimmers the light of sunset.
This beautiful scene was drawn during Solomon's last years at the St. Giles's Workhouse, Seven Dials.
