This colourful print shows Carlisle Town Hall as it appeared at Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee on June 22nd 1897, painted by Thomas Bushby. It shows a view of the Town Hall and Market Cross seen from the market square; the streets are decked in bunting and several flags hang outside the Town Hall. Several figures sit on the steps at the base of the Market Cross; others wander past, alone or in pairs. Three unattended dogs are depicted in the foreground.
