Print of Carlisle from Weaver's Bank by Thomas Bushby
This watercolour of Carlisle from Weaver's Bank was painted in 1895 by Thomas Bushby. It is late autumn; to the right of the foreground stands a tree, a few brown leaves still clinging to its branches. Sheep are grazing on a patch of grass beyond which stand rows of terraced houses, smoke issuing from their chimneys. The cathedral rises above them in the distance.
