Role Play
These role-plays are set in the galleries and are designed to be an interesting and fun way of using the displays, allowing the students to empathise with the period they are studying. Role-play is carried out in costume.
Roman Detective Role Play KS 2
Allow 1½ - 2 hours
User Group: free
Non User Group: £3.10 per child including admission to the museum
Education led session: £50 extra per class
Your class changes into Roman and Celtic costume and is split into groups. Each group is given a sack which has been 'discovered'. In the sack are a number of objects which belonged to someone from Roman times. It is up to the group to play detectives and find these 'objects' in the museum displays and decide who owned the sack.
Victorian Role Play KS2

Brand new exciting, interactive Victorian Role Play session. Meet former Tulllie House resident Mrs Dixon and discover what Carlisle was like during her lifetime. Children will explore childhood, transport and living conditions during the Victorian period through roleplay, object handling and gallery exploration.
