Assesmblies in Schools
When you start a new topic why not have Tullie House visit you at school to introduce the subject and get your class excited and engaged during one of our FREE interactive assmeblies.
We are currently offering assemblies on The Romans, Vikings and The Border Reivers and New for 2017/18 the Anglo-Saxons.
Assemblies las 30 minutes and can be delivered to large groups. They can be booked at any time during the school year but we require one month's notice to book our staff!
Natural England Assembly Week - Habitats
2 to 6 October 2017 and 5 to 9 March 2018
Key Stage 1 or 2, Free
Sue Woodland from Natural England will visit your school to deliver interactive assemblies with a Tullie House twist looking at habitats like woodlands, peat bogs and hay meadows in Cumbria.

Outreach Special Events
Diwali Week - 16 to 20 October 2017
To celebrate the Hindu festival of light, Priya Sundar will explore Diwali using dance, storytelling and objects from the museum collection.
(£125 per half day. Session last for 1 hour and can accommodate a class of up to 35. Subject to school timetable we can fit in 2 session per half day)
We Will Remember Them - 6 to 10 November 2017
This one hour session explores WW1 and remembrance using objects and costume and focusses on the story of Poppy and her brother Wilfred.
(£105 per half day. Session lasts for 1 hour and can accomadate a class of up to 35. Subject to school timetable 'Poppy and Wilfred' can fit in 2 session per half day.)
Florence Nightingale Weeks - 13 to 17 November 2017 and 8 to 11 May 2018
Let Tullie House bring Florence Nighingale into your classroom! Meet the lady herself and look at objects and costume that hep her explain the story of her life and work.
(£90 per session. Session lasts for 1.5 hours and can accomadate a class of up to 35)
Mid-Winter Tales with Ian Douglas - 4 to 8 December 2017
Your pupils will step inside festive stories in this lovely session with renowned local storyteller Ian Douglas - Ian will delight your class with participatory festive takes inspired by the Tullie House collection.
(£105 per half day. Session lasts for 1 hour and Ian can be flexible with numbers. Subject to school timetable Ian can fit in 2 sessions per half day)
Romans, Reivers and Royalty: 200 Years of History at Brugh Church - 14 to 18 May 2018
In this special 2 hour session at Burgh By Sands Church, we will bring history to life through objects and costume. The session will be hands on and also focus on chronological skills using examples from the church's amazing history. During the session your class will explore the beautiful building and examine the physical clues that tell us its fascinating story.
FREE (Schools need to provide their own transport to the church)
Living Things and their Habitats - 25 - 29 June 2018 (Finglandrigg Wood Nature Reserve)
Natural England Staff will lead a day of activities inspired by the reserve and neighbouring farm. Your class will take part in three workshops looking at famrning, bugs and beasties and biodiversity.
