Tullie house Museum and Art Gallery has won its third award in the space of a week thanks to VisitEngland.
The latest accolade for the museum is VisitEngland’s ‘Best Told Story’, awarded annually as part of VisitEngland’s Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme.
Speaking about the latest win Andrew Mackay, Director of Tullie House, said “It has been an extraordinary week for the museum and we are so delighted to have been awarded the VisitEngland Best Told Story Accolade. At Tullie House we place our visitors at the heart of everything we do and we aim to reach a diverse audience through the stories we tell across the museum from Romans to Vikings, Social History and more recently an insight into the lives of people in Carlisle during World War One.”
“The Accolade means a great deal to the staff, volunteers and most importantly our visitors and we are extremely proud to have been awarded this”.
This is the latest in a string of awards in February for the museum and its staff, which include Best Museum from Cumbria Life’s Culture Awards and Cumbria/Yorkshire Museum of the Year from Going Places UK.
