Welcome to the Tullie House Families Area

Tullie House are winners of the Telegraph Kids in Museums Family Friendly Museum Award. We follow the Kids in Museums manifesto and aim to provide a welcoming, family friendly atmosphere, first class family friendly activities and events throughout the year, spacious baby-changing areas, comfortable gallery spaces and a child-friendly restaurant menu.

Museum Gallery Trails

While you are in the museum with your family we have a range of trails you can follow to make your visit a little more exciting.

These are also available to pick up at our Trail Station near the museum entrance. Please bring your own pencil.

Tuesday Tales (Cumbrian term time only)

Join us on the Border Galleries at 11am every Tuesday to hear traditional stories and folk tales linked with Tullie House's collection. Especially designed for under 5's.

Sessions last approximately 30 mins and have a relaxed atmosphere, children are welcome to come and go as they please.

Sessions are FREE but museum admission charges apply.

Special Events

We have an exciting programme of special events throughout the year celebrating our changing exhibitions including action packed summer family festivals, our famous family sleepovers and exhibition opening weekends.
