In April 2020, we asked members of the public to send us their photos of life in lockdown and tell us what the images meant to them. Some of these photos are now on display in our garden. They show different aspects of lockdown, from empty spaces in Carlisle city centre and daily exercise in the countryside, to messages of support for the NHS and key workers, and advisory signage, both official and unofficial.
Alongside the images from the public are a selection of works by local photographer Stuart Walker, which capture some key moments and iconic images of the pandemic. Explore the photos, read the stories and think about your own experiences over the last 6 months.

Please note that the photographs include content that some people may find difficult, including NHS workers in PPE and pop-up testing facilities.
