We have an exciting opertunity to assist family learning staff in setting up and delivering activities/events anywhere on the museum site/grounds or off site. This could include: games, arts & crafts, exploration and discovery, trails and physical activities.

Skills and Qualities:

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Enjoyment working and talking with people of all ages
  • A positive, can-do attitude
  • A ‘hands-on’, practical, adaptable and flexible approach
  • Someone who enjoys art and craft.
  • Good time management skills


You will receive an induction and relevant training from the members of our Learning Team. 


We are flexible to the amount of time you commit to the role but would encourage you to volunteer on a regular basis. Our family programmes include fortnightly Wednesday toddler group, fortnightly Sunday craft drop ins and weekly craft drop ins on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday during school holidays.


You will need to undergo an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Baring Service (DBS) as you will be working with children.

You will need to arrange your own transport to the museum.

You must be willing to read and adhere to the volunteer agreement and any policies that govern you role within the museum which the volunteer and Tullie House will base their relationship on.
